In a survey conducted in 2018, InsideIIM asked its vast user base of MBA aspirants the top-5 factors that mattered to them while choosing a business school. Unsurprisingly, amongst the top-5 factors was the cost of the MBA program. It is common knowledge that while a lucrative degree to have under your belt, an MBA is not cheap. So, what does it cost to pursue an MBA from one of the 20 IIMs in the country today? What is the cost of an MBA from an IIM in 2020? What has been the trend in the fee hike for the IIMs over the past three years? Here's an analysis to answer all these questions about IIM fees in 2020.

Did you know that in 2007, you could pursue an MBA from an IIM in just Rs. 2 lakhs? Today, the most expensive IIMs charge Rs. 23 lakhs - that's an increase of over 1000% over a period of nearly 15 years. Globally as well, an MBA is one of the most expensive degrees to pursue, especially in the US where the top b-schools charge no less than USD 200,000 for a one/two year program. B-schools like INSEAD and LBS in Europe also charge colossal fees for an MBA.
