The inaugural edition of i5 Summit was held at Indian Institute of Management Indore. Student Activity Council (SAC), IIM Indore and Student Entrepreneurship Support Cell (SESC), IIT Indore came together to initiate the dialogue on entrepreneurship and give all budding entrepreneurs a platform to Ideate, Innovate, Inspire, Induce & Invest. The event kick started with the keynote speech by Dr. Ganesh Natarajan, CEO, Zensar which was followed by a stimulating panel discussion on E-Commerce by Raghunandan G, Ritesh Agarwal, Neeraj Singhal and Rohit Chaddha. Workshops on Growth Hacking & Development, App Development and Business Model Canvas were held among many others over the two days.
The most coveted event in the I5 Summit, Venture-I - International Venture plan competition, one of a kind platform where entrepreneurs could raise ₹15 lakh of investment. More than 300 startups from India and abroad participated for the event and top 15 along with top 3 Indore startups were invited pitch in front of renowned VC’s and angel investors. Hate2wait and Bingage received a funding of ₹15 lakh each while Gamezop- most promising startup was offered ₹5 lakh which they politely refused.
Other highlights of the event was the speeches by Ronnie Screwvala, Founder, UTV and Kris Gopalakrishnan, Co-Founder, Infosys.
The i5 Summit saw over 650 external participants, 45+ speakers with 5 start-ups raising funds in the flagship event Venture-i. Over Rs 35 lakh were raised by venture capitalists and there were more than 15 angel investors. Students of IIM Indore also won Rs 2.5 lakhs in the Tata i5 Prize.
Panel discussions on Digital Entertainment and 360 degree view on funding was well enjoyed by the audience. Vijay Nair, Sameer Pitalwalla presented some interesting viewpoints while Tanmay Bhat and Biswapati Sarkar made sure the audience had their fare share of laughter.
