IIM Indore Mumbai Campus has created History by entering into Limca Book of Records with a new record of most dance performances based on Women Empowerment theme in a single day by a group under Dance Category. This record will be featured in the 2015 Edition of Limca Book of Records.
On the auspicious occasion of Republic day (26 Jan 2014), group of 24 students of IIM Indore Mumbai Campus performed a Dance Act to spread awareness about Women Empowerment. It was done at four different prominent malls located in Maharashtra. The group started the performance at Korum Mall (Thane) around 12:30 pm, then the same group reached R City Mall (Ghatkopar) around 4:30 pm and started the performance at 5 pm. Next, then the team gave a splendid performance at R Mall (Mulund) around 7 pm followed by R Mall (Thane) at around 9 pm in a single day on 26/01/2014.
The performers in the dance act were: Manognya Vissapragada, Aditi Bharadwaj, Dhyani Doshi, Basamgari Mounica, Soumya Choudhary, Alka Sinha, Charudatta Masodkar, Akshay Agarwal, Prasad Kamath, Anubhav Jain, Subramaniam Sridhar, Rama Krishna, Himani Kothari, Nitesh Kumar, Gaurav Bhawnani, Shilpesh Mishra, Kapil Anand, Gunreet Kaur, Roma Shrivastava, Sharmishtha Chattopadhyaya, Devi Prasad Khatua, Venkat Kartik Basava, Anshul Jain and Ritvik.
The organizing and supporting team for the event included the following students: Charudatta Masodkar, Nitesh Kumar, Akshay Agarwal, Dhyani Doshi, Maahir Danewale, Pawan Gangwani, S Srikanth, Chirag Shah, Vikrant Singh Pawar, Atul Katiyar, Ashutosh Mittal, Paulson Paul and Adip Joseph Daniel.
The students were able to spread awareness about eve teasing and harassing women for dowry which are very sensitive issues in Indian society.
