IIM Kashipur: A Wonderful Journey

The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is a new entrant in the elite league of IIMs. The institute is set up with the objective of providing quality management education while sensitizing students towards the needs of the society. IIM Kashipur commenced operations from July 2011 under the mentorship of IIM Lucknow. The institute offers Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), a two-year full time residential programme. The rigorous curriculum seeks to instill a passion for knowledge and ability to apply that knowledge to real life scenarios. The programme lays emphasis on all-round personality development and inculcates the values of leadership and integrity.

Located at a wonderful junction of industry (300 + operational plants of companies Parle, Titan, Mahindra, Dabur and the like), tourism (places like Corbett national park, Nainital, Mussorie etc.) and agriculture (sugar cane produces, agricultural university etc) thereby having a lot of scope of multidisciplinary learning and application of management education. The new campus to be ready this season onwards (200+ acres, sprawling lush green one at that! along with all relevant amenities! and IIM Kashipur being the first one to do so). Current campus too is an independent campus with single/double accommodation
Decent placements - Amongst the highest no of international placements/summer internships in new IIMs and comparable, if not better, overall placements with all new IIMs!.The string of new and innovative ideas...and that’s why I like to call it "a start-up of dreams" -
(a) First amongst all IIMs to have been working on setting up a community radio station for the local population
(b) The only IIM that I know of which has organized a full-fledged quiz in the middle of a jungle!
(c) The only IIM to have a biker club spearheaded by none other than the institute director himself to go on bike voyages along with spreading the message of safe driving!
(d) The only IIM to finally have its own licensed film screening auditorium from the competent authority!
(e) The only IIM to have its walls serving as 'masterpieces' of graffiti workshop!

IIM Kashipur's students have the privilege to learn from some eminent faculties of this country. Students in IIM Kashipur come from the different parts of the country. The different cultural diversities helps students interact and celebrate with each other. The different educational backgrounds with work experiences add value to the batch. The freshers in batch bring the sense of freshness and creativity to the group. Every day you will get to learn new things from a new friend. IIM Kashipur ensures that students get a distraction-free and highly resourceful environment to grow as managers and individuals. Sporting facilities include a football ground, basketball court, badminton and volleyball courts along with table tennis.
