IIM Lucknow launched the silver jubilee edition of its Annual International Business Conclave, Manfest 2012 on Thursday, December 8
th 2011, with the unveiling of the event’s website -
http://www.iimlmanfest.com. This edition of Manfest is based on the theme “Innovate, Implement and Inspire: Build a Legacy” and aims to explore businesses, leaders and ideas that have persevered and prospered to build a legacy. Manfest 2012 will be held from January 20-22 in the IIM Lucknow campus.
Returning as Title Partner this year is the TATA Group, also sponsoring a flagship management event called TAS Zeus that will offer a prestigious TAS shortlist to the winners aside from whopping prize money of INR 1 Lakh.
State Bank of India (SBI) too returns as Associate Title Partner of Manfest 2012 and sponsor of the flagship Business Quiz, SBI BizQuiz 2012, which promises to be a humdinger if last year’s event is any indication. The Next CEO, Mahindra Call for Arms and L&T Finance Holdings’ Finesse complete the flagship management events ably supported by a host of industry and domain specific competitions for B-school students. Online events such as Treatise and Dayitva have extended Manfest’s reach to International participants from Stanford to Singapore.
Events at Manfest this year will be geared towards providing fresh new ideas, case-driven insights and sound management expertise to businesses, both local and national. Events have evolved from purely intellectual contests to talent identification platforms for corporates, and are now growing to solve real problems for real businesses.
The Leaders Express vertical at Manfest this year is all set to host two very relevant leadership summits – one centered on Indian companies expanding overseas, and the other exploring sustainable growth. Not to mention, the avant garde Corporate Luncheon, talk series and Gravitas - the Manfest publication that will also be launched online this year.
Social Responsibility is a crucial element in the path to sustainable living and transformational social change. As a responsible B-school, IIM Lucknow places a lot of stress on this. Under its Social Impact Initiatives, Manfest launches the second edition of the hugely-successful pan-India event Yajna - The NGO Solutions Challenge that will get NGOs, corporates and students to work together in solving critical social problems of the day, in as many as 7 Indian cities. Other initiatives like the Prerna Social Entrepreneurship Awards and the iconic Lucknow 10k Run are also focused on impact this year.
All this serious business is, however, not without its share of fun as Manfest becomes the first B-school event in the country to host 4 professional acts across 3 consecutive nights. An international rock concert is in the works, along with a thumping Bollywood Nite featuring a leading playback singer, a scintillating cultural performance courtesy SPIC MACAY, and a bouquet of other entertainment events.
All in All, Manfest 2012 promises to be a roller coaster ride of competition, discussion, knowledge creation and entertainment!
