25th March 2018 was a special day for IIM Rohtak. Hon’ble Vice President of India inaugurated the new campus of IIM Rohtak spread across 200 acres. Phase I of the campus is completed with the state-of-the-art academic block, administrative block, 13 student hostels with all modern amenities, seminar hall, shopping complex and residential accommodation for faculty and staff. The feeling of having own campus cannot be expressed in words. Being in the second year, I had the privilege to study in both campuses. Each had its own set of advantages and disadvantages. The new campus in located in Sunaria near Rohtak.
Every campus is unique in its own way, be it the structure or the culture. IIM Rohtak campus is special for us too. One of the best thing here is the facilities that are been provided. Every student is provided with his own room. There is flat like structure each having three or four rooms each and a living room. One of the main point of attraction is the academic block. The classrooms are air-conditioned and having all modern amenities. It creates a positive environment to study. All the 13 dorms are unique in one way of the other. You will find all kinds of people and there would be activities going on at any point of the time.
One of the most active sites of the campus is the badminton court. It is situated between the dorms. There is always someone or the other playing and rest of the area is occupied by people sitting and enjoying. Many of them play box cricket nearby and the site is always lively. The shops nearby takes care that we are provided with needed material and food at any point of time. The Mess is spacious enough and basic factors like hygiene is taken care of. The library has all major books and subscription to top newspaper and magazines. Super-Speed internet has enabled that the campus is truly digital. The campus had helped us create many memories which we will cherish for lifetime. I am hopeful that the campus would be one of the best in coming years as construction of phase-II is going at a good pace.

I would like to work with Idea Cellular Limited. I feel that the telecom sector is going through an interesting phase. Though Idea-Vodafone merger will bring in few set of challenges, it would provide me with great learning opportunities. Idea being one of the biggest telecom company after merger with Vodafone will give me a great platform to start my professional career. In addition, the telecom companies are now trying to create new business models in collaboration with other sectors like digital entertainment etc. All these factors will help me to think on my foot, stay updated as well, and provide me a great start.
