IIM Udaipur, this is the home for me for past one year. The utter joy I had when I got the mail that I converted one of the most prestigious college of our country cannot be explained. When I came here, I met with a group of one of the most talented people I have ever seen.
What makes IIM Udaipur unique is the culture here. With a perfect balance in terms of academic rigor and extra-curricular activities, the one year spent here has been an experience filled with learning and fun. The day starts with classes from morning till afternoon, followed by the club/committee work and the pre-class preparations and just when we get the feel of the time, it is almost 2 in the morning and still left with so much to do.
The 300-acre campus has all the facilities that students need. And the schedule is designed so that we get the experience that the future manager needs. We get both rural and the international exposure through different programs. The Student Exchange Program, which gives the experience of international environment and varied cultures that a manager has to deal with complements the learning that we have through Rural Immersion Program, which helps us to understand the realities of Rural India. Experiencing the best of both worlds help us gain a much better understanding of two contrasting atmospheres.
When we manage to find some time in the busy schedule, there is so much to do, we celebrate all the festivals with our IIMU family. The birthday celebrations of each and every individual and the mail before the birthday about the person sets the tone for the celebrations. The year ahead will be a year full of learnings and fun.
Coming to my dream company, one of the Aditya Birla Group companies that I would like to work for in future would be ‘Planet Fashion’. This is because fashion is something that I can relate to. And after studying courses like consumer behaviour and marketing management, I would like to feel the real experience of customer management and increasing the sales of the retail outlets. Also, I would like to know how the sales and distribution of ‘Planet Fashion’ is managed and what are the key areas where I can analyze and suggest some new implementations and reforms to better the operational activities to improve profits.
