Imperium, the flagship event of MDI Gurgaon, is one of the largest B-School fests in India and is attended by students from all the top B-schools like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, XLRI, SP Jain, and IITs. It is marked by a huge variety of events ranging from sports, case study competitions, cultural events, student address by leading industry stalwarts and social figures. The event climaxes with mesmerizing performances by some of India's leading artists every year including Euphoria, Nikhil D’Souza, Parikrama and The Local Train, and comic artists such as Rahul Subramanian, Abish Mathew, Biswa Kalyan Rath. Sorabh Pant and Karunesh Talwar.
The world around us is constantly changing and it becomes imperative to not only be aware of it but to drive it in a way that it is fruitful. Is there a better way to do that than a three-day-long celebration of change?
With this vision, MDI Gurgaon organized its 3-day Annual Extravaganza — Imperium 2019, centred around the theme —
“Conquering the Horizons”. After all, a wise man once said,
“We all live under the same sky, but we don't all have the same horizon”.
Imperium 2019 was a culmination of sporting, cultural and academic events. While the events saw participation from all top B-Schools around India, we got a humongous response from the student fraternity pan MDI as well.
The academic events were conducted by various clubs and committees including flagship business simulation and case study-based competitions, which saw great participation from ManDevIans.
There were quizzes, treasure hunts and fun events all around the clock for 3 days. The various dancing, singing and street play competitions were an enjoyable experience for the audience and participants alike. The schedule was packed with umpteen gifts and cash prizes being distributed every hour. The stall setup by Coca Cola was well received by students for the quirky print of pictures on the Coke cans, which served as a cherishing memory for students to keep forever.
After a tiring day full of events, students were greeted with pro nights on all 3 days. The first night was turned musical by Sahil Sharma and his soulful band Sahil Syndicate. The band performed its own songs as well other Bollywood songs. On 23rd November, Rahul Subramanian, the energetic comic set the stage on fire with his hilarious stand up focused on the B-school life. Finally, the event concluded on 24th November by the energetic performance of famous singer Benny Dayal who sang all his Bollywood Chartbusters, and made the audience groove to every beat.
Imperium 2019, surely lived to its hype of being the most happening days of MDI and one of the best management fests amongst the B-School circuit.
"Leading Team Imperium has been a rewarding experience for me. The preparation and the execution of the annual fest of MDI really brings out the manager in you.” – Kushaagr Panwar, Secretary (2020-21), Imperium
