Aditya Birla Group, the third largest private Indian Multinational Conglomerate with presence in 42 countries, is connected to the lives of almost every Indian in one way or another since 1857 when it was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla. Be it fashion needs to ethnic clothing to cellular needs to help to build homes to financial services, ABG companies are a part of our lives every now and then. The five core values of ABG- Integrity, Commitment, Passion, Speed and Seamlessness serve as a beacon for any person dreaming of being successful. Through their presence in industries like Telecom, Manufacturing, Cement and Fashion ABG have become an organization representing and bolstering India’s global presence that every Indian can take pride in.
ABG has quite a big role in my life too. May it be choosing the most trusted cement brand Ultratech for our home, or always shopping from ABRFL’s huge collection of brands like Pantaloons, Louis Phillipe, Allen Solly, and Peter England under one single roof, or using one of the India’s best mobile network with high-speed data services even in the remotest of villages, ABG has always been my first choice. I am also a very active social worker and seeing ABG doing great work for society like free polio vaccines for 70 million children, providing free 450,000 solar lamps for school children or affordable healthcare for over a million people has always increased my pride for choosing ABG. Their grandiosity in business and nobleness for society is something that always astonishes me and attracts me.
I come from a family of engineers and hence always had an inclination towards it and eventually it became my dream. After my X, I started preparing for the engineering entrance exams aiming for the top institutes and my goal was to get admitted to one of the prestigious Engineering colleges. I worked hard for two years but was unable to secure sufficient marks for the institutes I desired. My confidence was shattered as I have been a good student my whole life and this was my first failure. I was in a dilemma about what to do and was about to give up on my dream.
But fate had something else in its store for me. Two of the most important pillars of my life helped me to continue pursuing my goal. First was one of my closest friends, who even after securing less marks, was ready to go for another attempt, although she was special able and had very poor eyesight, still on seeing her eyes glittering with confidence in her dream acted as a catalyst for me and made me strong. Second was, my backbone, my family who stood like a shield in front of me and my failure and motivated me give one more shot on dream stating their firm belief in me.
I decided to go once more for the exams, studied hard and prepared for a whole year with my friend. Finally the belief of my friend, my family paid off and we both got admission into very good institutes of our choice. This incident taught me that life will always throw problems on us but its people close to our heart who will always help us overcome them.
Today I am a student at IIM Raipur, one of the prestigious MBA institutes in country, still pursuing my dreams with glittery eyes, thanks to my family and friends. Whenever I think back of the hard times it only brings a smile on my face with a feeling of gratitude for everyone who believed in me.
So Bring it on Zindagi!!!
