Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies is known as “The CEO Factory” and it has earned that stature because of the opportunities the college provides to the students to encompass the skills and qualities to become a CEO. One such opportunity is “E-CONFLUENCE”.
E-Confluence is a platform for students and entrepreneurs to present their entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial business propositions to industry, academicians, research scholars, potential investors and government representatives. It also gives opportunity to students to hear some unknown remarkable entrepreneurial stories and understand what it needs to become an entrepreneur.
E-Confluence’18 was one of the successful JBIMS event, where there were 20 speakers from 10 different sectors and each one having their unique experience and story. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Vithal Kamat, who shared his entrepreneurial journey of Kamat Groups of Hotels. This was followed by the session by Mr. Dhanushkodi Sivanandhan, one of the India’s most well-known and highly reputed IPS officer. He shared his story of Roti Bank and gave valuable insight on how to become a great leader. Each entrepreneur shared the difficulties they faced and the steps they took to strategise to achieve their ambition. They educated us with their story on how to plan short-term and long-term goals, how to manage people, how to collect the resources and make those available resources to use and importantly how not to let the success make you myopic in future decisions. They taught us why it is important to become a great leader over a great manager.
Which ABG Company would you want to work for and why?
E-Confluence and other similar guest lectures has instilled in me to work in a company where it gives its employees the platform to plan out the framework for strategies for the business and thus, I would like to work in Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited. Payment banks are the next big thing in the financial services sector. ABPB being a new business for the Aditya Birla Group would provide opportunities for me to participate in decision-making discussions and to communicate my feedback. Payment Banks are showing tremendous growth owing to internet usage and thus, with increase in competitions in the future, new strategies would be required. It will provide ample of opportunities for me to diversify my horizon in term of planning and providing strategic direction. ABPB is on the path of bringing secure, simple and innovative solutions to each Indian and with digitalization on the roll, working in this breakthrough company would be impactful and challenging.
