Life at IIM Indore is good till you discover that it's all about the people here. They are MBA aspirants planning to run companies. But look at them closely just to discover little kids burdened with hell lot of responsibilities. Yes, I'm talking about more than 23 years kids who never grew up to forget the child inside them. I'm an engineer, and the only lifestyle I knew can exist in college is ‘jugaad’. Although I wasn't very shocked when people were found to be serious about management studies in IIM campus. They read every day to class and participate in discussions wholeheartedly. Exams are serious events in their lives but you wouldn't have bothered about your scores so much hadn't been your mom shouting at you for not bringing 90% as a kid. But if you are thinking its a bit too much for a student at this age, hold on till I introduce you to a student who can stay awake all the 5 consecutive exam days so that he doesn't miss out on a single word on paper. If he sleeps, he is cutting down on study time!
Weird?
There's another character who exists simultaneously in this IIM world. Every day he will go to the gym in the evening or play basketball. He will study his subjects nicely. Perform well in the curriculum. Participate in the events of the college. But when the pet dogs are out on the campus for their stroll, you can see this guy playing with one of them or feeding them or making them sleep. This is not a sudden splurge of love for dogs that he has developed but has been doing this for 5 years (IPM batch)! The dogs make his home in this small world. And guess what we have a small community for taking care of his pet dogs on campus as well as a huge dog house :p
Last but not the last crazy person I've met on Planet-I is Mr. Nomad. Why do you think you come to a management college. You are quite decided upon the fact that you want to work as a manager for some years after you have experienced how life is as an undergraduate pass out. You pay a hell amount of effort to clear 4 years at engineering and then another wave of competition to get into this college along with a truckload of effort to pass out from here. But all these because next, you want to do UPSC? I am spellbound by your dedication to degrees my friend.
Disclaimer: All these people exist in my batch and they are amongst the top performers in this institute. So don't be misled.
