Internship with Bharti Airtel:
I did my summer internship with Bharti Airtel in Gurgaon. Ihad taken my internship outside the college and I had opted out from the SIPprocess of college. The primary reason to take this call was my location constraintat that point of time. I had certain unavoidable situation in my family backthen for which I had to ensure to be in the same city and as I belong toGurgaon I had taken it up in Airtel.
The process began when I got my CV referred to the HR of Airtelfrom a senior, and I was called for an interview. It had 2 rounds of interviewone was telephonic and the other was a face to face interview. After they received my CV they scheduled atelephonic round with me in the next week itself. It was a basic round ofscreening where they talked about my CV, my previous job experience, myspecialization of MBA and certain questions related to my academics andbackground.
The second round of interview , was a face to face one, where they had been really considerate of me, as they scheduled my interviewaround the Diwali vacation where I had gone to Gurgaon, as otherwise it wasdifficult for me to fly down to Gurgaon in the mid of the course to give theinterview.
The face to face interview was more in depth interview, where they tried tounderstand what exactly have I done in my previous job, why I took a decisionof quitting my job after having a work experience of 4 years and what was myexpectation from my summer internship program.
Also they asked me few subject related questions on HumanResource. They tried to check my approach and understanding about that domain.Since my specialization is HR they asked me if there is any preferred domain Iwould like to work on. Though I am an engineer but in my previous job I got anopportunity to work in the domain of Learning and development in myorganisation and I had a knack for it. So I had talked about it and I mentionedthat Learning and development would be an area where I would be interested. Fortunately, they had some projects available and they agreed to give me that profile.
I Joined Airtel on 1
St April 2019 and did myinternship for a period of 8 weeks. I mainly worked for Marketing and CustomerExperience department for driving a Training Need Analysis for the technical, functional and behavioural trainings. My main area of responsibility was tointeract and engage with all the vertical heads of the domain and to get theinsight about their work, to discuss the skill required my their team membersto perform their jobs efficiently and what all are the gaps they have thatprevents them from achieving their goals. After the Gap analysis was done, thetraining need identification was done to ensure that they are given all thetrainings that enables them to perform their work efficiently.
Overall the experience was good, and I got the opportunityto learn a lot.
