Interview experience of the IIT Bombay was really exciting. We were asked to take off from work for the interview. The interview was conducted on a platform named Gather. Gather is a great platform for collaborating with different people. It was the technologically most advanced interview experience for me. This experience was highly appreciated by all the candidates and it shows the innovation that a technologically advanced Insititute like IIT Bombay can bring to online version of interviews.
The interview was conducted by two professors. The interview was all-rounded. It started with an intro about myself and then they asked me questions based on my intro. The questions were about my academics in computer science, work experience in software development and the technologies and technical questions on them.
After this, the interviewers asked me statistics questions. The questions were related to continuous, discrete distributions and their real-world examples. Then the interview shifted towards the goals and the desire to pursue an MBA and what do I expect in return from the B school.
To be honest, interview experience at SJMSOM was different as it focused more on the academics and was tech heavy. I would like to recommend anyone who attends SJMSOM’s interview to be thorough in the subjects of their academic field, work experience and to be good at quantitative concepts that are used in MBA. MBA has quantitative subjects that includes statistics and it is expected from the candidate to know the basics.
It is very difficult to predict questions in any of the interview, so we need to prepare everything that can be asked. Be cognizant about your academics, goals, aspirations and have faith in you. These qualities will take you a long way. Last, but not the least, I wish all the aspirants best of luck for their future. SJMSOM is a cool place to be in and i am lucky to be a part of this B-school.
