The PI call was released in Mid-February, it included all the basic required details from group links, support email-ids, Interview mode and tentative dates all under single mail so details were easy to trace.
Buddy/Mentor were assigned to clarify doubts regarding the PI process, admission procedure, and other general queries, they responded promptly to the queries. To help with the preparation, all the clubs at SJMSOM released a PI Kit to prepare for all specializations with basic knowledge of most of the topics.
My interview slot was from 1pm to 6pm, we were assigned separate buddy for interview day who communicated things smoothly via telegram group. Gather platform provided almost real-life experience in 2D where you can communicate with other candidates in your batch and also move towards document verification and other required places. Interview day buddies introduced the panel to us and their specialization so that we get ready for more questions in that area. Also, they would let us interact with students whose interview are done so we may get some idea of questions.
My panel included 3 members, 1 SJMSOM professor, 1 IIT Bombay Professor and 1 alumnus. I was asked to introduce myself, and while I was talking about my work experience there was a lot of cross questioning on the same by SJMSOM professor. The alumnus continued the discussion by asking advanced level questions related to the work experience. The IIT Bombay Professor then asked few questions related to my final year project of undergraduate and continued the discussion on academic related question with required practical thinking. The alumnus asked some rapid question regarding general awareness and the reason behind the current happenings and phenomena. The interview felt more like a discussion then just question and answer.
I also had few calls from Old IIMs with greater batch strength still I found that admission team at SJMSOM did a way better job of organizing the admission process compared to other colleges. The buddies assigned were very helpful and overall, it was a unique experience. I was able to convert the SJMSOM call.
