YES Bank recently announced the its list of 30 YES Future Ready Scholars for the year 2018. It’s a privilege to make it to the list. It has been more than a week since the announcement and the wishes keep pouring in. This year Yes Bank has increased the number of colleges eligible for the scholarship and included a few M. Tech courses from the most prestigious institutions of India to the list of eligible courses. I will soon share my own experience of what being a #YESBank #YesFutureReady scholar feels like, but before that I wanted to see how my fellow scholars feel about the scholarship. IIM Shillong this year is privileged to have two scholars and it made my job easier of finding a fellow scholar, he lives two room from mine. So, I talked to Anjal Agarwal, a fellow scholar, to understand how he prepared for the scholarship process and what it means to him. Here is how Anjal responded: 1. How did you prepare for the interview? Any pointers for future scholars? I took a quick check on my finance concepts and a look at recent editorials. I read a little about the company and went in for the interview. This is something that I learnt from a Scholar from our senior batch. I think it's important for you to know about yourself. Especially for the psychometric test. You must have clarity of thoughts which will help you a lot. 2. How was your interview experience for the YES future ready scholarship? I was not very sure of what bases to cover. I was not sure what I was expected to say or do. We do have a senior scholar in our college whom I asked for help, but the pattern has changed from last year. Last year they had to make a small video and some questions were around that. Halfway through the interview, I had only discussed myself and skipped some easy questions. But at the end, I had an interesting conversation and a good perspective for my paper with the interviewer. I felt good about the interview. 3. How do you see YES bank as a brand for your career? YES Bank is one of the leading and growing brand in the banking sector of the country. Leadership roles in such brands is something that I aspire, and YES Bank would give me that. 4. What are your expectations from the mentorship program of YES future ready scholarship? I hope mentors would give me industry exposure by live projects in the company. This will help me understand what YES Bank is doing, their business and their initiatives. Plus, association and guidance with such industry giants is always a privilege. 5. What do you plan to do with the scholarship amount? The money goes to my big entrepreneurial idea which has not yet occurred to me. Till then I will keep it safe with me. 6. You have an interest in stand-up comedy. Any plans to continue it? I had no talent then, I have no talent now. So, I don't plan to do stand-up comedy. But I would like to do something to encourage it in the country. (To everyone who does not know Anjal, the last answer is a big fat lie. His skills on stand-up are really good.)   From what I have experienced, humility is a part of his personality and this is a big reason for his presence in the list of selected candidates.
