IIM Udaipur, a citadel located at the outskirts of Udaipur city. An educational stronghold of 500 gifted management graduates trying to conquer and overcome the regular attacks of assignments, presentation, and pre-reads. Students trying to get most of their “sleep” which they have neglected since their childhood. The constant pressure to outperform everyone and lead the team boils down to one essential task of final placements. But amidst all this chaos, some students are outliers. They don’t follow the conventions and create their own league. Let’s talk about some of these crazy characters I have encountered in IIM Udaipur.
“Pujari” or a priest is what I and my roommate heard about the guy who lives next door. Known for his hygiene, he doesn’t allow anyone to enter his shrine in shoes. He loves music though he can’t sing but declares his love for music by playing soothing music throughout the day. His room is the central attraction of the cluster, and there are signboards throughout the hostel to show the way to his room aka “Temple” and donation boxes. He is the first tuccha we were acquainted with, and he was super helpful in all aspects. All I can say, he is the coolest tuccha my roommate, and I have met in the first twenty days of IIM U.
Another interesting character in IIM Udaipur is my roommate, Siddharth. A pure Malayali guy with love for coconuts. He doesn’t know how to communicate in Hindi, but stills try to imitate Bollywood songs. Without understanding the meaning of the songs, his attempt to sing the same is quite hilarious. I hope someday he will realize humming “Babul Ki Vidai Leti Jaa” during the class is not at all acceptable.
In the end, I would like to mention another special friend of mine, Anirban. He is a perfect example of a stereotypical Bengali person. Loves fish over everything else and was kind of disappointed by the fish in IIM U Mess. Maybe, he expected a lot more variety. The biggest challenge he has faced after joining IIM U was convincing people to give up nonveg food as he became the part of the cult Iskcon. Surprised, it was the project he was given during the communication course, and he excelled at it.
Finally, I want to end with the note that joining IIM U has been an interesting decision of my life and with such exciting profiles around me. I am sure I won't get bored during my two years of adventure at IIMU.

The ABG subsidiary I would like to be part of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. The company contains various brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly and People in its domain. These are some of the best clothing brands which I have adored since childhood. Being a part of the organization which makes a product you love and contributing to their growth with your skillsets is an opportunity available to very few, and I want to avail the same to add to the Aditya Birla Fashion’s success.
