ABG in my life and beyond.
Aditya Birla Group is one of the prominent groups in India. Along with 120,000 employees in 35 countries Aditya Birla Group is serving every part of the community. Aditya Birla Group has ventures in many sectors like communications (Idea), construction, apparels, etc.
In India, a large chunk of people including me use Idea sim cards for communication. There are only a few people who aren’t familiar with the lines “what an Idea sirji!” and “ek idea jo badal de aapki duniya”. These were amongst the successful campaigns run by Idea which addressed social issues and focussed on solving them in a funny or a serious ways. One of the issues being addressed right now is degradation of Earth’s environment. It serves as a means to help the planet greener. A healthy environment is essential for the livelihood of each person and ABG can always be seen striving to make world a better place.
Being a creative person and a son of a civil engineer, every man made structure always fascinated me. ‘Ultratech’ is one of the prominent players in the cement industry. Many structures like roads, bridges to the flats that I’ve lived in were built using ‘Ultratech’ cement. It can’t be argued that ‘Ultratech’ is surely the engineer’s choice.
As it’s said, “manners maketh man”; along with manners there are a lot of things that one needs to consider. One of the things I consider most important is to maintain proper attire. Each occasion requires appropriate clothes. That is where Aditya Birla Group shines the most, from professional wear by Van Heusen to help you make a good first impression to Allen Solly to help you stand out of the crowd, ABG plays a crucial role. Hence majority of my wardrobe is filled with ABG apparel. Considering dressing well as a priority ABG has become a substantial part of my life.
By easing the communication with idea, constructing dreams with 'Ultratech' cement, helping us dress well, etc. the group has become an indispensable part of our lives. Along with achieving remarkable success and giving back to the society ABG is doing well to make world a better place.
Challenges and Consequences
Not everything comes easy, there always comes a part in everyone’s life when they come across various challenges. The way we face those challenges and overcome them are one of the key factors in determining the path of our life.
One such challenge I faced was during my engineering college days. It was my ambition to get admitted in a reputed college and to accomplish that I needed a better score during my graduation project. To complete a project within a stipulated time is easy if all members of a group are present. But life is never easy, just before a few days before the deadline of submission two of the guys from a group of four had to leave due to personal reasons. Thus I and the other group mate did all the work staying up for 2 days straight. We were so sleep deprived that as soon as we submitted the report we searched for an empty classroom and slept there for a few hours. As a result, we scored satisfactory marks for our project.
Other such instance was before the CAT exam, a week before the exam I had some normal cold which I usually do in winter or rainy season. And so I ignored, this proved to be a grave mistake. Just 3 days before the CAT I was down with fever which only got worse and worse; I barely had energy to walk or do any kind of work. But I knew that I had worked so hard for the last few months and I couldn’t stop now. So I made up my mind to revise a bit and appear for the exam no matter the cost. I asked my aunt who was a doctor by professor to accompany me to the exam centre and asked her to wait outside in case of any emergency. I appeared for the exam and attempted as much question as I could. Once I was done with the exam I immediately went home. I was bedridden for 3 more days.
Looking back at those challenges, I am glad that I took those decisions. As these are the decisions that led me to getting admitted in one of the most prestigious colleges in the entire country.
