This lockdown period is not the same for everyone. Ever wondered, what will happen if we don’t get any meal for a day or two? Every day, where we all think to try a new recipe or do something creative, there are still many families who don’t have anything to eat. Some of them don’t even have a ration card or any government-issued identity to avail any kind of help or support from the government. One of the major sections of these families is the tribal families of Raigad District, Maharashtra.
The Tribal families of Raigad villages (Maharashtra) are mostly Daily-Wage Manual Laborers, from more than a month their daily income is gone, due to Coronavirus pandemic and they are left in extreme poverty and deprivation. Vulnerability of one group of these Tribal families is already further worsened by the fact that their village - was uprooted and destroyed in the 2019 floods.
A group of students are working along with the Confederation of Empowerment Initiatives(CEI) for their initiative of working towards helping almost 2000 tribal families. The Funds will be utilized in providing Food Package, basic Medical Kit for the prevention of contracting Coronavirus.
We always say that given a chance we should help these types of families, so this is a chance for all where you can contribute to these families. The best thing is there is no minimum amount. You can contribute as much as you want even Re 1.
