“Mummy..mummy!! Where is my white shirt?”, I shouted in despair at the top of my voice. It has been almost ten minutes that I had been frantically looking for my lucky shirt. I had cracked all the interviews whenever I wore that and today being the final interview round of Common Admission Process, I did not want to take any risk. Amongst a plethora of shirts, I saw neck portion of a shirt, and it read “Van Heusen”. That is it! I found it finally. Call me superstitious, or blame me for being a child, trapped in the body of an adult, but I have my lucky charms and I just can’t let go off them. Similarly, in the daily life, it is hard to sustain without using or encountering with a product that does not come under Aditya Birla Group.
My bond with ABG is not something that has been developed recently. It dates back since my growing days- since the time I saw my father work hard to build our home using Ultratech cement, since the time when I got the first stroke of independence- a mobile phone with a simcard of Idea in it. Aditya Birla Group is part of all the activities that I do, day in and day out. Hence, for me Aditya Birla is not any other conglomerate, it's a bundle of memories packed under one umbrella brand.
Challenges that I have overcome:
Like any other human being coming from a modest family, while growing up, I had my share of struggles and today as I write this, I can proudly say that I am nothing, but just a product of the struggles that I went through. Everything was fine and my life journey was smooth, till the time my father's business took a hit when I was in class 12. I used to see how he silently suffered and made sure that me and my sister never felt the need to ask for anything. He tried hard to make sure that no one at home gets affected by it. When I realized the situation, I decided to fund my education. I decided to convert my talent of painting into something more financially rewarding. That is when I learnt tattooing. Though I took up tattooing out of sheer family needs, I enjoyed the process of providing an indelible impression, which people can cherish throughout their life. I always wanted to do something to create a permanent mark on the world through my work and tattooing actually allowed me to do so. It taught me how one single error can ruin a beautiful piece of art and there is no coming back from it, since I am working on a human canvas. Thus not only overcoming challenges, tattooing has taught some impeccable life lessons. Even my managerial skills developed due to this phase of my life- be it the articulation of thought process, critically analysing the clients' needs and coming up with a design, negotiation or communication skills. This is one of the incidents about how I overcame challenges in my life by monetizing my creative abilities and adopting an unorthodox profession.
