Generally, I am a person who doesn’t get excited about small things and gets hyper elated very rarely. I enjoy doing all the things which a typical student of my age would love to do. But, there came an unexpected day in my life which gave me one of the best moments of my life. While I was working in Pune, I always see a group of children at the age of 5-9 yrs playing next to a small tent on the footpath of a less crowded junction. I am fond of buying more apparels as I always believe power dressing gives you a sense of confidence and projects you at your best to the world.
Suddenly I realized there is no extra space for my new Van Heusen apparels and then decided to throw away some unused clothes. There are many less-used LP tees and Allen Solly trousers too in the pack which I decided that I won’t be using them any further. That’s when for the first time I thought of giving away clothes to those kids who are barely wearing anything in chilling winters rather than using them for cleaning and wiping. When I went and gave the 6 kids those clothes the need which I observed In their eyes and the desperation with which they took each piece carefully and also after carefully seeing them I realized they don’t have enough clothes to sustain heavy winters too, The proud and happy feeling which I felt at that moment is indescribable. Maybe at that moment, I realized one of the truest forms of happiness is when you give what someone else needed the most. That is when I started to gain interest in reading about many CSR activities and their benefits towards the society especially for the underprivileged is amazing.
Many big companies which are near and dear to the heart of crores of people because of the association which they created with their brands is known to many people. But one of the most important reason for a companies success is the values which they have and their vision. ABG is one such company which showcases each of the aspects to the prime level and made an impact in millions of people by the quality of their branded products and the social activities which they perform while giving back to the society. Aditya Birla is heavily involved in health care as it sets up medical camps and works on polio immunization.
They also make the physically challenged self-reliant by providing them artificial limbs. They also have set up Reverse Osmosis plants to provide drinking water. In line with the Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, they have set up toilets. They also have multiple education initiatives across India. This also includes skilled training for sustainable livelihood. Leveraging its experience in infrastructure Aditya Birla Group has also helped build houses and are on the vision on creating model villages in India.
I simple words ABG is so big in my life because of the faith and trust I associated on its brands. Not only on their products but also on their Values, vision, and mission with which they are doing things from many decades. I even trust that one day of 6 lakh + villages in India we can see many Model villages possible because of the activities which conglomerates like ABG do.
