Right after my school, I started with my bachelor’s in management studies. My situation was similar to that of a tender bird who is about to take her first flight. She wants to aim for the sky, but confusion, nervousness, excitement is flowing in her veins faster than the blood did. Bachelor’s in management is a prestigious course in itself not only because it is a professional course but also because it is considered to be the prequel to the very celebrated course i.e. MBA. From rigid rules and regulations in school to a carefree yet stressful environment in college, the environment for me changed in its totality. In college we had to be responsible for ourselves. The problem wasn’t that.  Even the curriculum was also not the problem. The problem was all those things that happened at college and never happened at school. Like activities were given more weightage than studies. Being a member of societies became a matter of life and death. Organising events caused more tension than mid-terms did. Amidst all the chaos caused due to this transition, I used to find my solace in numbers and hence I embarked on a new journey and started with Actuarial Science. Meanwhile, I got settled in my college life, became a part of various clubs, volunteered for a lot of activities but I kept my love for Actuarial alive. Slowly and steadily I got at ease but little did I know that burning the candle at both ends was going to be extremely stressful for me. The pressure was too much to handle. Everything came at once. All the deadlines, college exams clashed with actuarial exams and all the commitments that were to be fulfilled. I couldn’t find where to start to reach to the end. I think that was probably the lowest point in my life. I felt like I made a wrong choice. I felt like maybe I am not crafted to handle pressure. I doubted if I would even be able to survive all these challenges. But I just couldn’t sit like that. I had to overcome that sadness. I had to find an inspiration. I needed to reignite the fire in me. Like every other teenager, I turned to doctor google for help. I thought maybe google can be my counsellor. But then I thought to seek laughter therapy and opened google instead. I was searching for stand-up comedy to lighten my mood and fortunately I came across a video of Aditya Birla Group there in the suggestions. When I was preparing for the entrance, I heard about ABG but could never really know much about it. I don’t know what made me curious and I tried to search about ABG. Little did I know that encounter would have had a long-lasting impact on me. I was finding a therapist everywhere, serendipity worked, and I came across ABG, my therapist. First of all I watched that video. The title was “Aditya Birla Group- The Big in your Life”. It attracted me like anything. I wanted to know what is that “big”. I was amazed to see that how huge is the presence of ABG. ABG has touched millions lives all around the world. From being an aluminium leader to connecting the world, from enabling smooth flawless communication to financing myriads of dreams, from securing future to shaping automobiles, from enabling us to style our wardrobes to ensuring safe house structures for us, ABG is everywhere. I really loved how they pressed on this fact that they constitute a big part of our life because they know that how valuable are the small parts of our lives. ABG is the big in our life. That video made me realise that it is the small things that matter, it is the small things that culminate into the big ones and it is the small things that make the big picture. Maybe this was what I needed to hear. That one beautiful concept that ABG propagates, made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. There was something definitely magical about this encounter for sure. So now all pumped up with motivation, I recouped my strength and determination, got rid of my doubts on my potential and started with small things. I worked in my best capacity and worked until I was able to achieve big things.  At the end I was able to manage the pressure and conquer what all I wanted to. The tender bird finally could kiss the sky. It is the small flights that led to the big success. It is the small pieces that make the big picture!
