Sleep has become a luxury by now and uncertainty part of daily life. The teaching faculties are the best the industry has to offer. JBIMS provides an opportunity to learn Marketing from the ‘Brand Guru’ and Operations from the ‘God of Operations’ himself. With visiting faculties scheduling lectures on weekends, weekly off concept doesn’t exist here. During lectures, it becomes a task to catch up noting down all the free flowing insights these veterans have collected through their experience in the industry.
I distinctly remember the day when the first lecture of Moradian sir was scheduled and specific instruction to dare not come late for that 7 am lecture. And yes it was 6.50am already as I reached CST station. With a huge gap in demand and supply of cabs during office hours, it was always a herculean task to board a taxi. I got on the first bus that arrived at the stop and there I was at the college gate at 6.59 am. Well, now I had to run through the corridor and climb 4 floors to get there. I did make it in time, with seconds to spare. One of the unique features of JBIMS is it is not a residential program.
As the lectures are done for the day, most of them rush towards the railway station heading home. And that presents a great opportunity to understand classmates, their perspective, their ambitions and goals. The discussions cover topics from business to food. It’s a great time to get their opinions on possible start up ideas and talk through their approach to various competitions organised by corporates.
I have been using services from Aditya Birla Group right in the form of Idea Cellular telecommunication & Ultra tech cement used on the construction sites I was working on. With a vision to provide employees with careers that span across functions, business sectors and geographies it will be a perfect organisation to start a corporate career with. I want to work in the cements division as a Marketing manager. Being the No. 1 producer of ready mix concrete, grey and white cement in India, the challenges faced by the sales and marketing team will be huge and will provide me with great exposure to the industry.
