The journey to get through MBA entrances just for a seat at a premier B-school is so fierce that we are prepared to think it is 'us against the world'. Many of us entered the red old building with the same thought. But little did we know about the culture within these historical walls which has shaped us to think differently. JBIMS is all about its people.
The building cares about them, nurture them and form bonds which last a lifetime. Given the batch, which is limited to size but not to knowledge, it is easy to form a connection with everyone. A lot of it is owed to the daunting induction at JBIMS. The senior batch tries their level best to inculcate values like discipline, humility, and togetherness within us.
I recall one example when we were called to the college at 5.15 AM with business newspapers. Since a lot of us were new in the city, we didn't know on what all locations we would get them so early. So a group of people who were localities teamed up and got newspapers for the whole batch in bulk. Incidents like these had prepared us for working in groups. This has helped a lot of students to succeed in team activities. Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together. This spirit of working in teams and sailing in the same boat with everyone will surely help all the students to work wonders in their careers.
They say it is the journey and not the destination that matters. Similarly, this journey of self-transformation which moulds and shapes our lives into a better being is worth cherishing! With a platform to learn from subject experts, share a classroom with doctors, engineers as well as commerce and arts graduates, participate and ace the business competitions together while learning on the way, JBIMS has a plethora of opportunities to offer!
After working in this graveyard schedule, the obvious question arises, ‘Is it worth it?’
Ask the esteemed alumni of this CEO Factory who have been working in the industry for the better part of a quarter of a century and they would say in unison, “It is nothing compared to the 1st semester at Bajaj!” Some call it hectic, some call it harsh but it is something more than that. It is real and more lifelike than one can imagine! Nobody will give you a manual for life and say, “This is how it is done.”
