Two years back, stuck in the rut of a job I had no passion for, I decided to break free from the comforts that my job provided and pursue something that would excite me. I decided to pursue MBA from a reputed institute that would give me a holistic view of the domain that I had exposure to working in an MNC bank as a software engineer – Finance. Getting admission in JBIMS was a dream come true, as it is located in India’s financial capital, which opens up a plethora of opportunities. The red building has a legacy of shaping individuals into leaders of the future. Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, popularly known as the ‘CEO Factory’, boasts of alumni holding prestigious positions in various industry leaders. The rich pedagogy and the renowned faculty is top notch- we have the God of Operations teaching us the basics of supply chain, a renowned value investor simplifying the mysteries of markets, marketing guru teaching us the nuances of marketing and equipping us with ‘shastras’ of marketing to be able to face any challenges in the real world. The faculty not only provide us technical skills, but also influence and inspire us on personal level. Time management is a skill one develops here in order to survive. You are expected to stay on your toes with the schedule of next day coming a night before. The assignments, group projects, committee work, etc leave us no time to breath, but it has taught us to work under tremendous pressure and strict deadlines. If the rigors of academics are not enough, we have resume building, corporate presentations an various guest lectures, which leaves no time to relax. The break between lectures is when we bond over a cutting chai in tapri or over a coffee in canteen. The transformation that each one of us has undergone in this one year is something that JBIMS looks at – not just equipping us with knowledge of the domain, but also fine tuning our skills in order to make us better leaders and managers. Despite the rigmaroles, one thing that binds us with the red building is the love for it. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to be a part of this institute and strive to contribute our bit to uphold the legacy and pride of this institute for the years to come! Proud to be a Bajajite!   - Divya Shetty MMS -II, JBIMS
