JK Business School (JKBS) organized its Convocation ceremony for the PGDM Batch of 2013-15 and 2012-14 on the 5th of September 2015. Since JKBS decided to advance the convocation date for every year, both the batches ended up having it at the same time. Thus it was double celebration of sorts at the event that also took place on the Teacher’s Day.  The ceremony was held in the presence of leading dignitaries like Mr. P. Balaji, Director, Vodafone India Ltd, the Chief Guest for the event and The Guest Of Honour, Dr. P. V. Gupta, Member, Advisory Committee, MDU, Rohtak.

The event had also brought together proud parents, faculty members and alumni of the institute, who had all played a part in the growth of the new graduates. The students had their big moment when they were awarded their diplomas by Mr. Balaji in the presence of their loved ones. The Chief Guest also presented the meritorious students with their much deserved awards. Neha Deora and Priyanka Chaudhary were the winners of the Gold Medal for the 2014 Batch while Shambhavi Singh bagged the prestigious medal for the 2015 Batch. They admitted that it was their biggest achievement in life so far and gave them confidence to go after their goals.

The proceedings began as the Convocation Procession reached the venue. It was greeted with a warm applause from the gathering. The event was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JKBS then presented the Director’s Report where he highlighted the achievements and initiatives taken on by the institute in the last year. “The student exchange programs have been a big success. Last year, four bright students went to State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and they are willing to take in 10 students this year,” he said before encouraging the new graduates to be bold, honest and to believe in themselves.

In his Convocation Address, Mr. Balaji inspired the students to make a difference to the world around them. “Today it’s not so much about what you are doing but more about how you are doing it; that’s what is important.” He then went on to present the students with their coveted diplomas, which they will cherish all their lives. As Dr. Marwah had said earlier in his speech, JKBS will remain their college; a name that will remain associated with them all their lives. The new graduates remained aware of that, which is why on the day of bittersweet emotions they were raring to go and make a place for themselves in the corporate world.
