The worst moments in the life of an inspired person push him beyond every limit to prove his potential no matter how much he is abased. Hope is what the strongest weapon is meant to be. Just like a phoenix rising from its own ashes, something which I almost anticipated as impossible turned out to be possible and happened.
Being a 2016 B.Tech pass out with an 8/8/6 profile and that too a fresher in terms of Industry, I made it in IIMC in the maiden attempt. Post grad I was completely into full-time music (Freelance Drummer and Music Production) and that was a phase of the extreme struggle for me. Unfortunately, had to quit music in late 2019 due to the stage accident I met and was later diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss.
Went through a long phase of depression and COVID-19 exacerbated the situation. Still being a person who always aspired high and was willing to take risks, gave a year for UPSC prep but couldn’t make it. Lost my dad at the age of 3 and my mother being the only breadwinner, such situations, coerced me to quit again due to time constraints and responsibilities encompassing me.
Though this phase of UPSC prep made me a much different person from what I was before. I became a rational being, responded with intellect and reason and became adept at making the right decisions and convalesced. I retreated even stronger than before, made the right mindset and chose to pursue MBA even after getting a lot of remarks like it’s too late, you won’t get into a good college, the average grade in grad, no work-ex, 6 years long gap.
But the moment I made it in IIMC, no one could believe it with that profile. All this was possible because of the hard work, and focus I recently instilled within me, being honest to myself all the time and most importantly never losing hope. If I could make it in this case, so can any of you. Just believe me and in yourself too. Also, it would be an absolute honour for me if this story of mine could inspire others to give their best even in the worst case.
