“Life is not about how hard you can hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward”. A very famous quote from a movie which has been inspirational in my life and very relatable to my journey.
Life has a way of always throwing obstacles in everyone’s course of life, making it difficult for people to find their purpose and their best self through their journey. My journey was no different. My academics though impeccable throughout my schooling days till my 12
th, started to take a turn for the worse during my engineering as I began to doubt my purpose and my true goals. I did not wish to pursue a technical post graduate degree after my bachelor’s nor did I want to settle for a job, and so decided on pursuing an MBA. I was clear about my immediate goals as I began to prepare for the entrance exams in my third year, but couldn’t clear due to some unavoidable circumstances. I had to settle for taking up a job which later on turned out to be a turning point in my life. Though in the beginning doubt started to cloud my judgment and my focus on my goal, I never regretted my job in Infosys as it not only gave me a taste of different cities and cultures but also helped me realize my true dreams later and paved a path for my goal. I attempted my entrance exams again after leaving my job and this time with a renewed determination and dedication I cleared the competitive exams with flying colors.
There is an African proverb that read,
“When there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do you no harm”. Doubt and regret are two of the biggest enemies any individual will ever face in his/her life. When you refuse to allow any doubts in your mind, then no doubts from others will ever cloud your judgment. My turning point was the realization of this fact which led me to keep fighting no matter what my circumstances and believe that every moment in life can teach you something new and help you to grow, no matter what the world says.
