A week before joining IIFT, I knew it was going to be a rollercoaster ride. I should have read more about the twists and turns the rollercoaster had. Maybe I would have prepared myself more, but then again, was there anything to prepare me for this? My first impression of the place did not have the best of roots. I was the only occupant on the top 2 floors upon entering my room. It felt dark, slow, empty. I settled in quietly, putting everything in place, kind of got a sense of belonging in my room. Little did I know, it was the calm before the storm. A storm that took less than 24 hours to turn my life upside down.
The corridors which looked empty now had more than 150 of my batch mates trying to decipher the numerous assignments that we had never heard of. The rooms were now open for the public, who just had one idea, all of the belongings belonged to all of us. The difference between day and night was now miniscule. There was only one time now that we knew of – xx:59:59. AM and PM had lost its meanings. The pre-IIFT 8am jog was now turned into the 15 min run to the mess to fill the tummies. The pre-IIFT 8 hours of sleep was now turned to an hour of a blissful shut eye. The batch unity had reached new heights. You can call anyone anytime for anything. 10 students eating from a single plate was the new norm. I had a new definition of a happening life. A life where the length of 5 mins now looked more than an hour of pre-IIFT life. A life where the words ‘procrastination’ and ‘routine’ had lost its meaning. A life where my productivity went through the roof and I started getting the confidence to conquer anything in the world. Most importantly, I knew that I had reached new heights in many aspects. Did I say that this was the first day of my IIFT life? The sheer magnitude of change that happened within 24 hours of my life is something that I will cherish for the rest of my living years.

I would like to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited because of my curiosity for fashion and my love of supply chain management. The combination of these two would be of interest to me.
