About Me
I am the founder of indianfeel.com which I have started during my MBA course. Through our online portal, we have made an attempt to offer famous products from various parts of India, starting majorly with food items. We took the pain to tie up with the best suppliers from every part of the country. Our assortment begins at Spices from Kerala to Saffron from Kashmir, from Tea from Assam to Bhujia from Bikaner(Rajasthan). The website is in operation and we are looking to scale up. The idea for this portal was born out of the innumerable late-night conversations I had with friends from other states who crave for home food all the time. During my internship at Mattel Toys, I was responsible for improving their presence on E-commerce portals. Along with assisting my team in various sales and marketing efforts on E-commerce portals, I also made a primer for educating their sales team about online business and the associated trends. This experience gave me the confidence and the exposure to start off on my own. I am a state level Table Tennis player also.
What have you done at your Post-Grad/Business School/Undergrad level that makes you stand out from the crowd?
During my MBA, I founded an e-commerce portal "indianfeel.com". India boasts of a rich assortment of religions, cuisines, handicrafts, customs and traditions, many of which are lost over the years or remain confined to their particular regions, depriving our people of experiencing something wonderful due to sheer lack of availability. This diversity is so enchanting and compelling that it inspired me to design a platform where everyone could experience India, feel India; and all this on the click of a mouse. Hence the name Indianfeel! I found a gap when I saw my friends at IIFT bringing food stuff from their native places. Those authentic products were cherished by everyone. So, I felt that there was a gap in availability of authentic products from different parts of India. Therefore, I decide to create Indianfeel.
If you had unlimited money, what would be that one mobile application that you would create and what problem would it solve?
I would like to create an application to improve the quality of education in India, primarily rural India. I would have good quality teachers teaching live in a central room and their lectures streaming live across centres in villages through my application. It would be like different schools running same courses at the same time. The sessions can be accessed any time as they will be recorded after the lecture. All textbooks would also be available in digital format through the application. This can go a long way in improving primary and secondary education in India which is essential for improving the quality of overall education.
