Internships are the first milestone in the journey of MBA where we get to experience the corporate culture and get a chance to put our learnings in the first year of MBA to practical use. We were very much excited and enthusiastic about our internships. W,e wanted to utilize, this opportunity to our, fullest and, soak in the fulfilling and enriching experience. It is surely a roller-coaster ride. So here is, my internship journey! I interned with Exioms Technology Private Limited, which is based in Pune. During the in the interview for the internship it was mainly based on my CV and my proficiency in the profile I applied for. I was mainly asked on the live projects and the virtual internships which I did the after joining MBA. I had to explain the work I did and my contribution to the same. Apart from that, I was also asked about the different b-school competitions which I won and the case studies and problems I solved over there. After that, I was asked about my knowledge and idea in the marketing idea because it’s a domain of my choice and the profile I applied for. Exioms works on latest cutting-edge technologies like Blockchain. This was an added incentive because I would be able to learn deeply about the technology. I knew since it’s a technology of future this learning will help me a lot in my career in future. I worked in Exioms as a business innovation intern where my task was mainly in the marketing and the general management domain. Since blockchain is the latest technology, its market is in the nascent stage not only in India but all around the world. First, I learnt about the different aspects of Marketing of IT. It is entirely different from marketing of consumer goods. I learnt how to find the right clients and to pitch the product. Also, I learnt about the different pointers which help in tracking the growth of the company. Next, I was trained about the various terms and details of Blockchain technology. To know about the products and services of the company one has to be quite well-known with the technical aspects as well. The training helped me a lot to gain the required knowledge. Next up was the market research task where I did extensive research about the different competitors of Exioms in India and the domain they are working currently. This helped in analyzing the prospective business opportunities. One crucial aspect of IT marketing is the pricing. The pricing should be competitive which will help in attracting clients. For this, I collected info about the pricing of the different services from the companies working in blockchain and cryptocurrency in India. The scope of blockchain is enormous, and geographically it is not only confined to India but throughout the world. So, an important aspect is to understand the current scenario and policies regarding blockchain in different countries. I researched intensively about the situation and progress of blockchain in different Asian countries. This helped me in forming a good idea about the current status of blockchain in different Asian countries. I was fortunate enough to work on the existing products and services of the company. I learnt about the case studies and white papers and developed the same for the products of the company. I was involved in the business planning of the upcoming projects. Though currently Blockchain is only restricted mainly to the Fintech Industry, it has tremendous potential in future in different industries. The industries where blockchain will act as a disruptive technology are Travel, healthcare, telecom, education. The internship was not only about work, but it was also fun-filled. There were different activities held which kept the mood light and relaxed. I was lucky to get a mentor who was very helpful and supportive. The office has a very informal culture where I could easily approach others for help. I always got support in my work which helped me in keeping calm and perform my task well. Such was the environment that I could easily approach even the co-founders with my problems or anything I came across while doing my task. So overall it was a great two months for me where I learnt a lot of things. This will help me a lot in my career in future.
