It was that phase of my life when I was confused as to where I was headed. On one hand being content that I made up my mind to do my Bachelors in Business Management and on the other, being very unsure about my Masters and what I wanted to specialize in was driving me crazy. Contemplation and consultation helped me take a wise decision of spending my summer/winter break judiciously – three experience worthy and resume enhancing internships at Thrillophilia, Viber, Ogilvy & Mather.
From working at a startup like Thrillophilia, where I got a sense of possibly every aspect of an organization, to Ogilvy & Mather, one of the world’s largest Ad Agency, wherein I worked with senior managers in handling major accounts, I soon realized that a core Marketing/Branding role is what I look forward to, which one can get after completing his/her MBA from an institute of repute - and in came SIBM, Bengaluru.
Having lived in the city for more than a decade and having travelled past the college several times, never did I think that it would be my second home. Life at SIBM-B, right from meet and greet on day 1, has been full of surprises and a brilliant experience. From deep diving into why’s and how’s of theories and cases in class to pulling of all-nighters before a presentation/exam, from appearing for interviews at midnight to being a part of the Placement Committee, from hosting quizzes to attempting some dance moves every time there is a DJ Night at the Amphitheatre, SIBM-B has been one of the greatest teachers which has ensured that I have grown and evolved as an individual.
Living in an environment as dynamic as SIBM-B, where you have students from myriad backgrounds, it gives you an exposure like never before. Working on Harvard Business Cases which expects you to research about and interact with companies and a constant evaluation process has helped me land the summer placement I wanted – Branding Trainee at BookMyShow. SIBM-B, leaves no stone unturned, whether it comes to academics, co-curricular or extracurricular activities. It is an experience that MBA aspirants should look forward to.
