Adda the name synonymous with all HUL offices in India that are supposed to be a simple snack joint have turned out to be the heartbeat of the hilltop IIM Indore campus. From shaam ki chai to midnight vali Maggi (sorry KNORR) this might be the only place that is buzzing with life even at 4 in the morning. People living in Lanka (hostel at bottom of the hill) because of the arduous trek but they would happily do it for Adda Aunty’s hot coffee.
But the real charm of the place is neither the food nor the odd timings it stays open but it is the Adda Aunty. She might be cooking paranthas and not have an MBA degree but she can even the best with her marketing skills. She might not be Indira Nooyi but hell yeah, she can beat her if they both serve the same food from the same stall. From segmentation to the positioning of new products she is a real marketing goddess. Adding to that the amount of personalization that she can generate from just giving you a chai is just something even consultants might be scared off. The amount of understanding she has of the people’s nerve is just mind-blowing. She can cater to a 60-year-old guy to little kids. She even gets the new student's parents who are on the campus just for a day or two to become her fan.
Looking into the way she approaches the whole issue form asking, suggesting, making the food and the little chit-chat she can virtually do an STP analysis which even the administration can’t do. Looking closely, one can see everything that an MBA teaches you being applied here from marketing, operations to HR. Even her finances are quite solid and I am pretty sure her average CTC might be comparable to our placements. All this is like a small company in flow with deep insights into the real world. Just observing her one can a lot more about the finer &practical nuances of MBA just by lazily sipping on a cup of hot piping tea.
I would love to be a part of ABFRL as all if its brands are filled with class and a style quotient which is comparable to those of the in international ones. One striking feature about this arm of ABG group is that it has always stayed ahead if the trend and never tried to dilute its premium image and still be highly profitable. Also, being a marketing enthusiast, this would be a great opportunity for me too test my acumen and skill and also the chance to be part of such a prestigious group is one I would really want.
