LITTLE THINGS: BIG DIFFERENCE- NISHITHA, SIBM-PUNE

What if I say there is a single entity, which is a concoction of different elements touching millions of lives every single day and making them better, easier than the previous day by adding a little everyday, making it large. Also, this entity brings together the learnings and businesses of two renowned Indian fashion icons, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle and Pantaloons creating a synergistic core that will act as the nucleus of the fashion businesses and making us look and feel better. They also bring smiles on 7.5 million people by their welfare driven programs: healthcare, education, sustainable livelihood programs, infrastructure, building model villages; transcending the conventional boundaries of business because they care. They impact million lives in a small way but together the impact is huge. That is Aditya Birla Group for you: doing little things making it better and bigger for you. We build our lives upon what we have been taught.  From basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic to the importance of social interaction, teachers are given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of their students. I had the opportunity to impact the lives of few students When I was working for my past company CIL, we newly joined GET's were given a task to conduct a mega CSR event in presence of all the group companies of Murugappa in a CSR summit. Our group of five had a time constraint of a week and that to we need to work after working hours. We came up with a theme called Chemystry-it'sfundamental,which is devised to make children is the community aware of importance of chemistry. We conducted a quiz like show in 20 schools and we brought the winners from these schools to the community and conducted a mega event with many innovative rounds. The program turned out to be very successful. This made me understand importance of how few things or actions which mean nothing to us can be something important to the others. Interacting with children will give you inspiration and, I believe the purpose of education is to teach students how to function as a competent and successful member of society. This is a win-win situation for both. From then onwards I pledged myself to contribute and invest my time in the welfare of the students who are deprived of formal education.
