Student’s life is the most important phase of a man’s life. If you want good crops, you need to sow the seeds in proper time. Similarly student’s life is time for preparing oneself for the future and so much care is being taken to give proper education to them. This education should comprise not only by book learning but also by proper training of mind and heart.
Right from the start, I was interested in public speaking. Gave my first speech when I was in 3
rd standard and I never looked back. I kept on participating in several debate, extempore competitions and represented my school and college on various platforms. I also represented my school in the Inter School debate completion organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. During the final year of my Undergraduate, I was shortlisted for an internship program being organized by Massachusetts Institute of Technology in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
Along with my studies, I always tried to manage other co-curricular activities, which intrigued me. I remember, during my college days, I was appointed as the secretary of the Technical society of my college, wherein I had to manage entire fest, right from logistics, sponsorship, creating buzz among the students for the event. This gave me a very good learning opportunity in terms of team building, negotiations etc. I had several incidence, where I faced hardships in terms of getting scholarships, managing people, but it never deterred me from taking any risk and that’s how I was able to manage everything in an organized manner.
Back to school days, I still remember, I was one of those who never complained of going to school. I hardly remember any day when I made any excuse for not going to the school. May be because I enjoyed being with my friends all the time. Memories like taking out lunch box right in the middle of the class, sharing the food with friends hiding from the teacher from getting caught still bring a big smile on my fresh. I remember, my mother used to pack my lunch in
FreshWrapp aluminum foil. After having lunch, we used to make a small ball out of that aluminum foil and used to play cricket in the class.
APJ Abdul Kalam once said, “When you look back, you will never miss the lectures or assignments, but will always miss the fun and frolic that you had with your friends.” And that’s true. This type of memories makes you nostalgic at times.
Years passed and I deep dived more into academics and career goals leaving behind the innocence of childhood. Became more conscious about the world around me. Fashion and lifestyle became an important part of my life. I started spending more time in malls and stores like
Pantaloons than with my friends. Brands like
Allen Solly,
Peter England fascinated a lot as I was always concerned about my dressing sense. Be it for Office wear or Party wear. This is how, time changes you from a child with carefree attitude to someone who is always concerned about his appearance and style.
With the advent of Technology, things have started changing around us. Everything is technology driven. This reminds me of one incident when I went shopping to
Pantaloons with my brother and there was this machine that was being equipped to collect the feedback from the customers while the billing process was being carried out simultaneously. This made the process smooth and customer friendly.
Two years back, I was travelling from Trivandrum to Rameshwaram via bus. And as unfortunate as it could be, the driver was not familiar with the route and he ended up taking a wrong turn from the highway. It was 2AM and we were lost. We tried to figure out any possible means to get out of the mess, but all in vain. Mobile signals were all gone. Thankfully there was one friend of mine who was using
Idea sim card and we were able to find the correct route using the Google map.
Spread love. Get rid of Hatred. Keep smiling. Spread Joy. That’s how an individual can make a lasting impact over the minds of other.
Every incident I mentioned in this article brings varied emotions in my mind when I look back. Things have changed and so are we.
We as a citizen of this nation need to serve not only ourselves but also our country men. This can be done by developing a generous spirit and natural goodness in heart. And that is how we can
Take India to the World.
The only this that is constant is the Memories, Sweet old memories.
Aditya Birla Group is one such part of my sweet memories. Starting from my childhood days to adulthood, I have seen the products subsidiaries of the group playing a major part in my life.
It’s all about creating memories and making lasting impression in the minds of others by your good deeds.
That’s Life !!!!!!
