'Congratulations! You have made it to the Regional Finals of Brandstorm 2018!' It was the very first time in 6 years that MISB Bocconi participated in Brandstorm. We were overjoyed when we made it to the regional finals in the very first year of participation! This itself was a huge success as per us.
Days and nights of immense hard work and hours of research had finally paid off. Our faculty mentor was the primary reason for this success. We learned from her that if we put the class learnings to practice, we will surely make it. We carefully crafted the presentation and rehearsed multiple times before the final D-day arrived on February 1st, 2018. The Brandstorm team welcomed us pleasantly. We were put at ease by a lot of team activities and photo shoots that we treasured. Of course, we were nervous all throughout but we knew that this was going to the best day of our lives.
It was an absolute moment of pride when we were up on stage to present our solution to the top executives of L'Oréal. It was a 10-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of a question-answer session. We were overwhelmed when we received appreciation for our solutions and were asked to elaborate on it more. Here, the knowledge about L'Oréal's brands and our research helped us.
Though we couldn't make it to the National Finals, we learned a lot that day. It was a day full of self-reflection and improvement profiling. Not only did we get a sneak peek into Brandstorm and the competitors, but also suggestions and feedback as to where we could have done better. We went back full of happiness and energy thinking that we would definitely transfer this knowledge box to our juniors such that they could bring the laurel to MISB Bocconi next year!
Finally, we would like to say just one thing: nothing is impossible. If you put in hard work and hours of dedication, your journey will give you the right opportunities! So go ahead, take every chance you are offered and face the heat. You may win or lose, but what matters is that you learned out of this!
