I still remember my schooldays back in mid-2000, when I used to wake up at 6:00 am and started getting ready for going to school. Mother was always busy in the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the family. I used to eat less in the breakfast and when I was completely ready to leave home for school, she handed me & my sister with our lunch box. My friends and I used to sit in the football ground for the having our lunch & we daily waited for first four morning sessions for this time to come. Eating lunch with the friends, talking things of what not type & sharing food with each other had become a memory. Mother used to wrap ‘chapatis’ in the cloth until a new product called ‘Freshwrap’ from ‘Hindalco’ came in the market. Very soon, it was common with my all friends to carry ‘chapatis’ in the fresh wrap aluminium foil to keep it warm for long time. That never happened again when she gave me a lunch box after I passed the tenth standard as I went out of my town for further studies. ‘Lunch box’ came back to my life in the internship period after a long time in Gurgaon where an Aunt used to prepare breakfast and lunch and I wrapped ‘chapatis’ in the aluminium foil again a Hindalco product. This remembered me with my old school days. But one more time I got remembered is when I was living in Faridabad on rent and there Aunt made me breakfast, lunch and dinner for me and I was preparing for CAT entrance there. I had an ambition to study post-graduation in management from one of the prestigious institutes of India. For the preparation, I still remember that there was a lot sound coming from kids playing in lane outside home in Faridabad and I was busy with improving my verbal section as I was struggling to perform well in that section. I decided to study in night more than day time as there was no sound coming in nights. So, I told the aunt to keep my dinner as such in the chapati box and when I felt hungry, took food from the kitchen, reheated it in late nights and kept working hard for the preparation and improving in the various sections of the exam. And when the real time came for the entrance, I scored well in all the sections and in the verbal section as expected. And finally I got into one of the institute of national importance for higher education. All the three times got connected with just one common emotion of ‘food’ I used to take in three different location prepared by different persons and not the ‘preparation’ or hard work I did in the past to reach here where I am. I still think of preparing food by myself in the future, when I will be making ‘lunch box’ for myself, again many times of my past will reconnect again and help me how I faced challenges that times and move ahead to face more for sure.
