If you're a student at MDI, you may have heard about M.A.R.T., the student-run cooperative store on campus. But if you haven't, let us introduce you to one of the most innovative initiatives taken by students at any business school in the country. M.A.R.T. stands for Merchandising And Retail Team, and it is a non-profit initiative taken up by students to provide basic necessities and merchandise to the entire MDI community. The store aims to fulfil the needs of the students by providing them with confectioneries, packed food, toiletries, stationeries, home care, personal care, and sports items. The team members work tirelessly towards procurement of items, inventory management, and managing accounts of the shop despite the gruelling course schedule. One of the most impressive things about M.A.R.T. is its commitment to social causes. The profits generated by the store are donated to a social cause at the end of each financial year. This makes M.A.R.T. a unique store, not only providing for the needs of the students but also contributing to the society. Apart from the basic necessities, M.A.R.T. is responsible for designing and selling merchandise. The store takes care of all major necessities when the new batch joins college, putting up stalls during convocation and National Alumni Meet (NAM) for the sale of MDI merchandise. M.A.R.T. conducts round-the-year engagement activities like Instagram quizzes, MAuctionRT, BrandiZZ, etc. This year, M.A.R.T. presented a Souvenir box for the Seniors leaving the campus, which was a perfect way to bid farewell. M.A.R.T. also featured Batch T-shirts and merchandise for the entire batch. The store hosted a hoodie design competition, and the winning design was printed and sold to the entire batch. During Holi, M.A.R.T. partnered with Sanskriti to provide white tees to the entire batch at a minimal cost. But the most significant news regarding M.A.R.T. is that it has gone online on martmdi.com, and it is the first student-run store club in any business school to go online with an App available on Google Playstore. This is a revolutionary step, and it shows the innovation and commitment of the M.A.R.T. team toward making things easier for the students. M.A.R.T. delivers the items daily to the students, making it very convenient for them. M.A.R.T. has plans to go pan-India delivery for the MDI merchandise, which will be very beneficial for MDI alumni across the year. We would like to thank the MDI management for helping in this initiative and solving problems related to funding and delivery management. M.A.R.T. is a fantastic initiative that's changing the lives of students at MDI Gurgaon. M.A.R.T. is a shining example of how students can come together to create something truly unique and innovative. It's more than just a store; it's a platform that provides for the needs of the students, contributes to society, and fosters a sense of community among the MDI students. By going online, M.A.R.T. has made shopping even more accessible and convenient for students. We hope that this initiative inspires other student-run clubs to take similar steps and create more positive changes in their respective campuses.
