What makes my campus unique is definitely its humongous strength of around 650 MBA participants. This, for obvious reasons, scares the hell out of ordinary people such as myself, as well as the mighty PlaceComm-ers, who have the responsibility of placing these 650 highly ambitious individuals in equally ambitious companies. But with 450 PGP participants, 120 IPM participants, and 60 or so PGP Mumbai campus participants, we are a versatile lot. This is what truly makes Planet-I (that’s what we call it) an interesting place to be at.
The program that I belong to, a five-year Integrated Program in Management (IPM), was founded and is currently uniquely present in IIM Indore. Students who have just completed their schooling are taken into this program after successful completion of an aptitude test and an interview, with the intention of grooming them from a very young age. They then undergo training in various disciplines such as Maths, Statistics, Economics, Politics, Languages, Media, Arts and the like for three years, after which they proceed to do an MBA. Thrown in with Engineers, Accountants, Commerce and Arts graduates in the Post Graduate Program, we all blend in to form a thick mixture with varying consistencies and competencies.
So, if you ask me, I would say that the diverse lot at IIM-I is the best thing about it. Here, problems are easy to spot and solutions are easier to find. A pool of 650 young and bright minds breathe life into our beautiful campus, the campus that never sleeps. The trees and the roads and the buildings here are alive with the memories and achievements of bright minds from the last 20 years who are now probably consumed by the corporate world, making their mark out there. We follow them, hoping to leave behind more memories, bigger achievements.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
ADITYA BIRLA FASHION AND RETAIL LIMITED would definitely be at the top of my list. Retailing has interested me a lot in my four years at IIM-I, leading me to take up courses on Retailing and Channel Management as well as ian ntern at Reliance Retail during the summer. As I frequent stores such as Forever 21, Pantaloons, People and Van Heusen, I feel that I have a good understanding of the TGs of the various brands of ABFRL. I am a fast-paced person and I believe I can exploit growing trends such as e-tailing, m-tailing and Click & Collect models to create a better retail experience for customers of ABFRL.
