Usually at the start of something new, we have no idea what the journey will be like. Everything is unknown and new at this point; the end looks distant with the journey looking sketchier than ever. And of course, you will always have this little voice inside of your head which will constantly keep questioning your present and the decisions that you made to reach there. And this is not a one-time feeling, life keeps moving in circles and with that so does this feeling. And then at the end of that journey, life throws you a goofball in the form of the most dreaded question “what next?” I was in a similar situation a couple of months ago, I was standing at crossroads with the much dreaded, “What next”. I was done with my bachelors and instantly, I took a leap of faith and applied to Symbiosis. And, for the past one month, I have been more and more relaxed about this decision. The last month, I have come across some of the most diverse and creative minds, and because of this platform given by this college, have been blessed to be a part of their stories, like they will be in mine. And just like that, at a snap of a finger my new journey began. So, when asked what makes my campus unique, I was at a dilemma as I didn’t know how to answer the question. I started by thinking, do I talk about the breathtakingly beautiful surrounding or should I comment about the fact that it takes me half an hour to just connect with the rest of Pune? Do I mention about the impressive placement results or the amazing faculty line up? Or, do I start the age old complain about how mess food is dull and boring or do I mention about the best cold coffee that you can find in the world is found here in this college? There are several things to discuss and the list is endless to what makes my college so unique. But, I would like to start by saying the thing that makes my college unique is the concept of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakkam” which means “the whole world is one single family” in Sanskrit. The Founder of this institution, Mr. S.B. Mujumdar, wanted to make students from across the world feel like home in a different country as well. Being a foreign national myself, I for one can vouch for this. Symbiosis over this past month has been like a home away from home. Apart from that, the other thing I believe that makes my college so unique is the dynamic and diverse crowd. This diverse crowd, their culture and the stories that they bring along with them. Therefore, I guess it is the vision of Mujumdar sir and all the people associated with it, that makes this college so unique. But, more than everything, what’s makes this college so unique is the recognition that I get when I tell people that I am a student of this esteemed college. It is also the pride that lies in my parent’s when they tell people that their daughter is a part of this university. Which ABG company would you want to work for and why? Being a finance student my first preference would be Aditya Birla Capital Limited. ABCL is one of the largest financial service providers in India and working for ABCL is a huge opportunity for any finance enthusiast. ABCL will not only provide me with the opportunity to learn about the real dynamics and key features that influence and facilitates the market but will also allow me to grow and develop beyond my potential. ABCL being a holding company with several financial service businesses under its umbrella will provide me an opportunity to diversify my knowledge and explore different fields in finance.
