When it comes down to describing your b-school life experience, everyone gets excited and pumped up. So, here’s a quick glimpse at life at IIM Indore – the people here, the campus, the faculty and most importantly, what makes IIM Indore among the most beautiful campuses of the country. The typical day begins with the advent of beautiful morning light & chirping of birds where every morning, we open our eyes to the beautiful lush-green campus. We call it ‘campus on hillock’, away from the constant hustle-bustle, away from the noise, chaos & pollution of the city. And soon the clocks start ticking and campus comes to life with us running to get ready for morning 8:45am classes. Our campus boasts of its batch strength of around 500+ participants each year which also means that students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds come together here. With backgrounds ranging from Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Medical, Law, Literature, Economics etc., we get stimulating classroom discussion experience & this adds to overall learning experience of all students. With great diversity comes great festivities. The campus does not step back when it comes to celebrating festivals from any corner of the country. Even if we are busy with our everyday classes & assignment submissions, everyone does take out time to be a part of celebration. From Lohri, Onam, Rajasthani feasts, Pongal to Halloween night, Dandiya night, prom nightall festivals are celebrated with sheer enthusiasm and participation. The most awaited ones are regional dinner feasts be it Bengali or Rajasthani feast & late night weekend DJ parties, which makes one think for a moment that, these IIM I folks sure know how to party. One more thing that adds feather to this campus is that the curriculum does not only involve regular classes and assignments but also real-life simulation and field visits like Rural Immersion Program (RIP). RIP is a step towards providing students with practical and socially oriented approach to learning. It is an initiative with an objective to sensitize the students of the institution towards the various schemes undertaken by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in villages and to study and analyse their execution & effectiveness. This year the scheme was that of Open Defecation on the lines of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The students were divided in groups of 7 and the groups were allotted villages from various districts. The students were to analyse the execution of open defecation scheme & take surveys of the villages to observe the actual level of implementation. This program is focused in making the students apply the classroom learnings to a real-life environment and also explore the rural markets and identify implementation gaps.

Which ABG company you want to work for and why?
I would want to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL). I have an inclination towards fashion since my undergraduate years and I have been doing fashion blogging as a casual hobby. With international brands like Forever 21, Van Heusen, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Pantaloons etc. under their umbrella, ABFRL would be a best platform for me to learn & invest my business knowledge as well as my knowledge of fashion. I believe that ABFRL would be the place where I would truly enjoy working with something that I’m really interested in.
