Needs, Demands and Desire, these three terms basically sum up an individual’s everyday life. The same terms are indispensable for any organization and are the ethos based on which a company aims to expand their business and have a strong outreach to the consumers. Going back to 1857, Seth Shiv Narayan Birla started a cotton trading company in Pilani, Rajasthan. Little did he know; the company will spread its wings into having more than 11 business verticals in 34 countries spanning over 5 continents. Coming back to the 21st century, a company’s long-term survival is directly proportional to the customer relationship. Aditya Birla Group has been doing exactly that over its 160 years by successfully implementing this ideology. The AB Group was instrumental in creating an economic boom in India resulting in creation of enormous amount of employment opportunities. With the country in focus at its core, it would be myopic to ignore the fact that AB Group put India on the world map and began to garner economy as well as respect worldwide. Coming to my engagement with Aditya Birla Group, it won’t be too difficult to remember my first association with the conglomerate, though unknown to me at that point of time. It was when I received my first mobile phone with an Idea 2G sim in it. I saw it gained huge popularity in my locality as it was one of the earliest telecom operators to transit from 2G to 3G, it was a huge hit among the people. Being a member of the generation Z and a proud user of the ‘dot com’ domain, I have enjoyed their online apparels application ‘Abof’. During my campus placement interview of my undergraduate studies, the first thing in my mind was the word ‘formals’. And again, the first place where I went to buy my formals was Pantaloons, a company in the apparel domain owned and operated by AB Group. Pantaloons was and is a big hit among the consumers as it carters to the needs as well as the budget of the consumer. Apart from the above associations, I can proudly say that I am on the receiving end of the plethora of services provided by the AB Group daily – starting from the clothes I wear to the electricity in my home.  Being a very athletic person, I have always shown my commitment and dedication to sports especially in Cricket, Football and Volleyball. I am excellent when it comes to Cricket. I know the inside out of this game. I had exposure to all kind of cricket starting from playing gully cricket in my younger days to leather ball cricket in Hyderabad.  I got placed in Accenture after my undergraduate degree and the job location that I got was Hyderabad. It was in Hyderabad where I got the chance to showcase my talent on the playing field and it was in Hyderabad where I had the maximum exposure to this game. I proved my talent to the corporate club and later I was the wicket keeper for my club. I was also the youngest member of the team, but that never stopped me talking about my opinions, plan/strategy with my captain and rest of the team. Being a wicket keeper, we sometimes get a hunch about what the batsman is going to do next by watching their foot movement, body language etc. On several occasion. I used this skill to talk with my bowlers and fielders and make the necessary changes and mot of the time it also worked. Seeing these decisions taking ability and co-ordinating with everyone I was soon promoted to vice captain and stand in captain on certain occasions. I still remember my last match in Hyderabad where I played a match wining innings to take my team over the finishing line.
