It hit me like rock bottom, then lifted me and threw me upwards into the sky. Then tackled me from both sides, squeezing the lungs out of me, making me gasp for air, only to help me back up a second later, back to normal then. No harness, no support. My stomach lurched, I was going to be sick and none of the above was merely restricted to physical distress.
The ‘Experience’ had taken over. XIMB hit me like a breath of fresh air immediately followed by a slap called a reality check.
Having described in brief the roller coaster of emotions., it’s time to bring to light the medium, or the engine of this roller coaster ride called MBA, the people who were sitting on the very same seats just a year earlier. Yes, I am referring to my seniors.
It’s been just under three weeks since the doors opened to XIMB, but the experience had begun much earlier, with our interaction with the previous batch. Having said that, the real taste of a B-School was one we got when we reached the campus. From our pre-course assignment, one to one interaction with them to our (extremely ‘enlightening’) stress interviews. From learning basic business etiquettes to late night bonding sessions and inter-block competitions. The first three weeks have had it all, and for that, we have none other than our previous batch to credit. This experience that we’ve had is one they have tailor-made for us and as I write this, I know this is only just the beginning.
So yes, to reiterate, what sets XIMB apart, what sets the campus apart, and definitely what is shaping up my MBA life at the moment, is the batch of seniors.
