While most b-school students are sharing the unique experiences that they encountered during their MBA life, which might be the "moment of truth", the induction ceremony, the freshers’ party, various industry interaction sessions, aggressive competition or even placement processes, there is something about SJMSOM that only an IIT ecosystem can only do justice to. There is no other suitable place than this beautiful campus to find your hidden talents or to support you in pursuing your hobbies. When I first came here, I didn’t expect that even during my busy MBA life, I would get so many opportunities to give back to the society in the campus itself, learn new things and would actually be able to know my underlying interests. It feels great and satisfying on your part to be a mentor and teaching assistant to someone who could've been you once, with the same set of concerns and queries related to academics and career. You can contribute in helping them through various social bodies associated with IIT Bombay such as Abhyasika or Abhyudaya. Not only this, when it comes to taking care of the incredible wildlife around you and know more about the diverse flora and fauna present at the campus, I personally could not find a better place being a student to search for rare species of plants and flowers and capture them in my lens for life. Let it be a day of anxiety and mixed emotions that is pretty much the case for an MBA student, cycling around the boathouse or climbing the Sameer Hill every once in a while will make you realize how trivial your problems are and where you need to focus more in your life from a broader perspective. If you are interested in astronomy, we have regular sky gazing sessions, starting from a basic introductory session on telescope handling for beginners. Then you might indulge yourself in amazing facts and information on various constellations awaiting your presence at the Student Activity Centre. You just need to find your hobby, it could be related to aero-modelling, HAM radio, electronics, mountaineering or robotics and you will get an amazing club comprising of highly energetic students to help you at each stage. The beauty of nature and its calmness will help you maintain your inner self which will not only improve your efficiency but also charge you up when you're at your lowest!
