MDI was established in 1973 by Industrial Finance Corporation of India in Gurgaon, its spread over 40 acres. Furthermore, MDI has world class infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms, state-of-the-art Library, hostel, recreation areas like golf course, floodlit badminton, tennis and basketball courts. It has been a month since I joined MDI in the PGPM course and I feel proud to be a student of one of the top B-schools in India.
During the 10-day long induction week, 25 industry experts visited the campus to address us. The wealth of knowledge they imparted was eye-opening. I interacted with more industry experts in the 10-day long induction than I did in my 1.5 years of work experience. One of the best sessions, I attended was the keynote address by Mr. Prashant Parameswaran. He is the Director of Marketing – Strategy and Insights at Coca Cola India. He spoke passionately and managed to gain everyone’s attention through his simple and interesting way of presenting. He even explained the basic concepts of marketing in an easy way. He talked about the insight that needs to develop to market a product in an effective way.
Moreover, since the first day, we have been taught the importance of time management and its effective utilization which will beneficial to us throughout our professional career. I am quite grateful and excited to be here at MDI, Gurgaon. I intend to make long lasting memories and make most of my time here by fully utilizing the opportunities provided to me over the next two years.
Which ABG company would you want to the work for and why?
I would like to work for Aditya Birla Capital which is one of the top 5 fund managers in India with an AUM of US$ 23 billion. During my time at Infosys, I had worked in the banking vertical and since then I developed an interest in Finance. My interest is in the equity research domain and I am currently pursuing the FLIP certification of Equity Research to develop my competency in the area. Further, I would like to be a part of the private equity arm of the company. Aditya Birla Capital will provide me with the necessary opportunities and knowledge to grow and learn in the finance domain.
