The importance of Aditya Birla Group while growing up During my childhood, I would quite often demand branded clothes from my parents for the sole purpose of showing off to my friends. I believe that branded clothes bring with them better quality. This affinity to branded clothes has been with me since then. I would accompany my parents to Pantaloons and would shop for clothes with them. I preferred Pantaloons due to its larger area, friendly staff and reasonably priced clothes. I could find multiple brands and designs there and was confident that I would definitely find clothes that would compliment my personality. On my birthday, I would be eagerly waiting for the gifts from my parents. The tradition of gifting on birthdays and other occasions is very strong in my family. During my father's previous birthday, I had planned to get him a gift from my savings while working in a corporate. I wanted to see happiness on his face and this gift had to be very special since this was the first gift using my own money. I didn't have to think twice before selecting a shirt-trouser pair from Van Heusen. For my parents, I always wish for quality. Since the last 15 years, my father majorly buys from Peter England. For him, the brand evokes the memories when his dad first gifted him a Peter England shirt as a gift for purchasing his first car. This is the sentiment that is attached with the brand. Talking of quality, during the construction of my house in Hyderabad, we had to select the cement to be used. I compared various options for a whole day and finalized on Ultra Tech Cement OPC 33 grade cement and could not have made a better decision. Now when I visit the house and look at the strength and build of the house, I am very happy with the choice I made. I relate myself to this brand because I too like the Aditya Birla Group, believe in quality work and building a sustainable environment. One of the Major reasons of my admission at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is to develop the high quality skills required to be an effective leader and to give back to the society. Overcoming challenges to achieve ambitions As soon as I had wrapped up my 10th board exams, I left for Hyderabad to prepare for the entrance exams to the prestigious engineering colleges in India. I moved into a hostel and took up IIT-JEE coaching at a very well known institute(Sri Chaitanya IPL) in Andhra Pradesh. I sank into the environment and gradually got lazy. I dreamt big, but failed to work accordingly. I got distracted into the fun life in a hostel and spent a year and a half not realizing it. When I realized it, I thought that it was too late to do anything now and left all hopes. This is my second challenge. I failed to believe in my true potential. I somehow put up the courage and studied hard for the last two months to clear the first stage of IIT, but couldn't get past the second one. I understood from then on that in order to reach the big dreams or ambitions that I had, I also need to work effectively towards this mission. You never know your limits unless you are pushed till the extreme. So I have learnt to never underestimate myself and always think as I have the same capabilities as the best person for this task. I started applying these ideals and one of the outcomes has been that I have been able to complete a 21 KM Half Marathon within 2hrs 45 mins while weighing close to 95 Kgs. The second outcome has been that I have got into the prestigious MBA (IB) 2019-21 program at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade along with the best minds of the country. It is necessary to keep trying until you succeed and never ever think that it is not possible by you.
