SIBM Pune is known for offering a gamut of corporate and non-corporate events throughout the year, providing fuel to the promising young minds of the future who have been able to make it to the top of the hill (pun intended). These offerings act as stepping stones for students as they embark on their journey of becoming the business leaders of tomorrow. The events are interwoven in a manner which allows the students to explore themselves in a holistic manner.
As soon as the course commences, the new batch is ushered into a week-long induction process. The first-year students undergo a range of activities, including Team Building exercises, and Alumni sessions wherein the alumni of SIBM share their experiences and nitty-gritty of the corporate world. ‘AlumSpeak’ introduces the students to the rich alum base of SIBM Pune and gives them the opportunity to imbibe the learnings from their experience.

Once the students settle into their daily grind, then comes the exhilarating part – The competitions! Being one of the top b-school’s in the country, almost all the major competitions are open for SIBM Pune, which allows the students to compete with other brilliant minds across the top b-schools of the country.
One such competition is Godrej LOUD, which has a unique format wherein the participants share their dreams, and a few good ones end up living them! The students then rake their brain over case studies and live projects such as the HUL L.I.M.E., which is a national level B-School competition, where the participants work on a live business challenge faced by the company. Another such competition is the Mahindra War Room, and it takes b-school competitions to the next level, as it involves not only the Indian b-schools but is open to some international b-schools as well. Incorporating the international participation aspect of corporate competitions is another such one- Loreal Brandstorm, wherein the final round of the competition is held in Paris, a dream place to compete for any participant. Change the Game by PepsiCo is another major competition, where the company shares with the contestants a current problem / opportunity, and the students come up with innovative solutions to counter those issues.
Joining the extensive list of such events are competitions including ITC Interrobang, Nestle Ingenium, Yes Bank Transformation Series, and many others.
This year, SIBM Pune organised its first edition of HR Conclave, which was based on the theme of ‘Digital Disruption’ and served as a platform for the conglomeration of thoughts and exchange of experience and knowledge about the changing face of the Human Resources industry by some of the industry stalwarts. Similarly, there is an array of corporate events hosted by and for the students of SIBM Pune: Economics Conclave, Imperio, Senate, E-Summit, Arcturus et al.
Having spoken extensively about the corporate competitions, what’s life without a bit of fun, eh? And here at SIBM, we have it by the truckloads. The fresh batch is involved in a multitude of events such as Aarambh, an inter-SIU cultural event; Colosseum, a fun face-off between the senior and the junior batch. Sports enthusiasts have their share of fun too, with events such as Dwandva, Box Cricket, Gravitas and the Symbiosis Premier League (SPL).
All these events precede SIBM’s flagship Management and Cultural festival – Transcend, which is one of the biggest b-school festivals in the country, and brings together students from all the premier colleges in India, who compete across a range of cultural and Non-cultural events.
In the end, one could just say that SIBM Pune offers one of the most complete experiences of the b-school life, by offering the best of both worlds.
