"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
This correctly sums up what SCMHRD has imbibed in me - to constantly dream, believe in them and keep hustling! It means getting out of your comfort zone and challenging every time to be a better version of yourself. This endeavour of mine bore fruit in the form of securing a summer placement offer from Capgemini's Chrysalis Internship program in the financial services domain.
Keeping oneself updated on various current affairs and news help during GD's. Reading editorials augment the lateral thinking capacity and helps to understand different point of views which is definitely a plus while appearing for GD's .Coming to the interview part, it is necessary to brush up on the various facets of financial services, how fintechs are ruling in the BFSI segment. Reading about technology disruptions in the BFSI sector across the globe will definitely add value to the preparation !
Overall internship experience:If i had to describe my stint at Capgemini , it would be 'enriching'. Although virtual, my team left no stone unturned so as to provide a fulfilling experience. The virtual onboarding of all the Chrysalis interns was conducted across a span of 2 days, we were acquainted with the Capgemini's core values, business verticals.
I was inducted in Capgemini's Insurance practice and received two projects to on work on. My projects were based on product offering innovation in the Health insurance space primarily keeping pandemics in focus while the second one dealt with understanding the current scenario in US,UK's Life and pensions business and suggesting solutions to enhance the same. I had to undertake a thorough research, benchmarking approach to understand the current offerings and suggest. My first project was very much relevant due to the current pandemic situation and i learnt a lot while ideating. For the second project i understood the complete customer journey and identified the pitfalls.Amidst the internship i took up a 'Design Thinking' course so as to implement it in my project.
Throughout the internship, my ideas, suggestions were constantly being validated by my mentor. Capgemini's open work culture helped me reach out to many stakeholder's and understand their perspectives. Towards the end of my internship, i had the opportunity to present my ideas to the leadership of Insurance practice and they appreciated my efforts.
