My Fun Interview Experience At SJMSOM IIT Bombay

We all get a little nervous during interviews. But my experience at SJMSOM IIT Bombay was so unique and interesting that I did not quite get the time to be anxious!

Well, for starters the whole interview session was conducted over Gather Town which is like a virtual space where all the partaking students could interact with each other. The students from the Admission Committee created this whole virtual SJMSOM IIT Bombay for us so that we could feel like we were there even though all of us were just in our rooms!

There were different rooms and lobbies, right from document verification rooms to interview halls. There were also resting rooms which had lots of games and fascinating things. The ADCom also played cartoons for us while we waited to keep us entertained. Overall, it was super enjoyable exploring the rooms and interacting with other students!

Coming to the interview, that was conducted over zoom but the link for that was present right in the interview hall itself. After connecting, a group of students waited in the lobby. The three panels who took my interview were very kind and asked me some thought-provoking questions. They each took turns to ask me questions about my work, my hobbies, my achievements, my aspirations, and my goals. They also asked some technical questions since that was my background. And questions on management are a must in MBA interviews. My favorite part was when I talked about my hobbies because it was so fun and light-hearted! The interview lasted for about 15 minutes. After that, we could leave, and we were free to explore the virtual world of SJMSOM!

The Admission Committee students were always very helpful and attentive to all our needs. They made us feel comfortable and less jittery before the interview and shared some tips to help us feel better prepared.
