Being a Commerce graduate, I always had a proclivity for finance and accounting. Getting an internship from JP Morgan Chase & Co., one of the top investment banking firms was nothing less than a dream come true for me. I got selected for the internship through summer placements at our campus. The selection process comprised of a group discussion and an interview round.
The topic of my group discussion was one of the recent topics about which I had a good idea. I just gave the points that will add to the matter and I made my presence felt in front of the panel while listening to other members of the group in front of the panel. Next was my interview round, since I was from commerce background, I was asked all the questions from finance and accounting. I kept it simple and answering to the point helped me in the interview.
I was placed in the sanctions team under user acceptance testing. I had a good support network and a wonderful team to work with. My project was about the standardization of the testing methods used by the four domains under my team for the payments. I got an interesting role where I had to understand the testing process of the four domains and design a standard process across to remove the variability and subjectivity in the individual process.
My internship were the best two months I could have got. I enjoyed the learning process. It was a bit difficult for me to understand the testing, but the guidance and support I received from my team made it a lot easier for me. I finished my project within the stipulated time while learning new things from my colleagues. I am very glad that I got a pre- placement offer and to start my career in such an eminent firm.
