After the completion of my undergraduate, I ventured into the field of sales. Having an introverted personality, I was aware from the start that it would be a challenging field for me. I wanted to avail the opportunity to change myself and may be explore more about different kind of personalities. My job required to visit clients that were way older than me. After the initial turmoil, I started to understand that every single personality that I communicate with has some set basic values that will reflect in his conversation and that gives a sneak peek about his/her personality. With this realization I began to study people not objectively but experientially. This helped me to be comfortable with external environment and with this established comfort I began to realize I was exuding the same in the sense I was able to understand and communicate with every age group in a in depth manner.
Then came the second important aspect of my learning process. Venturing more into sales I saw the value of acceptance. The challenge I faced at the time when I was more comfortable with people was that I was not able to form long term relations with them even after effective communication. This led me to see the value of acceptance. When I studied my seniors who were extremely good in forming long term relationships with people, I saw them exhibiting the trait of acceptance. Thereafter I have worked hard on myself for inculcating the same value of acceptance and now I can see that I have more meaningful and long term relations with people from different age groups.
Changing myself and inculcating values after observing people is one of the challenge that I faced and the challenge which I am most proud of.
